Grounds Quest

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 July 2026

1. Who we are

Grounds Quest is a groundhopping companion app for football fans. This service is operated by Liam Bambridge, based in United Kingdom. You can contact us at support@groundsquest.app for anything relating to your data or this policy.

2. Account data

When you create an account, we store your email address and (optionally) a display name. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. We use this data to sign you in, secure your account, and attribute the visits you log to you.

3. Your groundhopping data

When you use Grounds Quest we store the football-related data you create in the app: match-day experiences, ground-only visits, saved plans and itineraries, badge selections, tips you post about grounds, and any photos you attach to a visit. This is stored so you can see your own progress and, if you appear on the Spanish 82 Leaderboard, so other users can see your display name against your total.

4. CSV imports (Futbology and similar)

If you import a history CSV, we parse it in your session, match rows against the Spanish 82, and store the resulting visits alongside any you enter manually. We do not retain the original CSV file after the import completes.

5. Location

The app can ask for approximate or precise location, but only when you tap “Check in” to confirm you are physically at a football ground. Location is used in the foreground only, is not tracked in the background, and is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

6. Technical and device data

Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, request timestamps) for a short operational window so we can secure the service and debug problems. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Sharing and selling

We do not sell your data. Your data is processed by the infrastructure providers we use to run the service — hosting, database and authentication, transactional email delivery, and mapping / distance services — strictly to operate Grounds Quest for you. We do not share your data for marketing purposes.

8. Your rights and deleting your data

You can edit or delete any individual visit from within the app on the “Your visits” page. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email us at support@groundsquest.app from the address on the account. We will action the request within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct or export your data — contact us and we will help.

9. Children

Grounds Quest is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, and we will flag material changes in the app.
