Spanish 82

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before starting the quest.

What is the Spanish 82?

A groundhopping quest to watch all 82 current La Liga, Segunda División and Primera Federación clubs play a home match at their home ground.

What is a Match-Day Experience?

A Match-Day Experience is logged when you attend a competitive home match of one of the 82 clubs at their home ground. This is the one of the two ways in which you can complete the quest.

What is a Ground Experience?

A Ground Experience is when you visit a ground without attending a competitive home match — for example a stadium tour or just visiting the ground. We are aware that sometimes you visit places and there is no game to watch - so we want to give fans the option to complete the quest with a combination of Match-Day and Ground Experiences.

How do check-ins work?

When you're near or at a ground, the app should prompt you to check in. You can also add visits manually via the Log A Match button on the main screen. No signal at the ground? Not a problem. The app will save the visit and allow you to complete it when the signal improves.

Can I import past Match-Day experiences via a spreadsheet?

Of course! Use 'Import history' to upload an Excel spreadsheet (or alternative compatible format). We'll match each row to the right club, ground and visit type and unlock any badges you've earned.

What do I do if I don't have a spreadsheet to import my matches?

That is absolutely fine. We believe most groundhoppers have some kind of record of the grounds they have visited, even if in some cases it is only from memory. The app allows you to add visits manually. You can enter a specific fixture if you remember it, or you can log a Match-Day Experience if you know you saw a match at a stadium but cannot remember the exact fixture.

Can I use my own photos on the team pages?

Yes — once you've completed a Match-Day or Ground Experience for a team, you can personalise that team's page with your own photo from your visit. Your photo is private to you and only appears on your own view of the page. The official ground image stays the same for everyone else. You can replace or remove your photo at any time.

How do badges work?

Badges unlock automatically as you hit Match-Day and Ground Experience milestones, complete regions, and progress the overall quest. You can see your earned badges and progress towards your next badge in the Badges section.

What are user tips?

Tips are short, community-style notes on each ground — where to eat, how to get there, where to sit. Add your own from a ground page to help other groundhoppers. We want Match-Day visits to be enhanced by your experiences, rather than us providing a series of bland Google inspired recommendations. Over to you!

Can I record every match I have ever attended?

Grounds Quest is designed around completing football quests, not recording every match you have ever attended. For each quest, you only need one qualifying Match-Day Experience or Ground Experience per team/ground. If you have seen the same team several times, that is brilliant — but it will still only count once towards completing the Spanish 82. This keeps the app focused on quest progress, badges and completing new grounds rather than becoming a full match diary.
